Lens on Leadership: 5 reasons to celebrate your wins!

Mar 20, 2024

This quote resonates deeply with the essence of leadership and individual agency. It underscores the reality that life isn't always comfortable, and the world's problems may seem insurmountable. However, it reminds us of the profound impact even one person can have. By embodying courage and fostering hope, individuals can spark transformative change, setting in motion a ripple effect that inspires others to action. It speaks to the power of resilience, determination, and the belief that small acts of courage can ignite monumental shifts in society. I love that in a time when things are uncertain, this message serves as a beacon of optimism, urging us to embrace our capacity to effect positive change, no matter how daunting the circumstances may seem. How often do you celebrate your wins? How often do you stop and reflect on what's working, how far you've come, how much progress you've made? If you're like me, you could be doing it a whole lot more often! I rarely stop to acknowledge, appreciate, and reflect on my "wins" whether they are big or small. Celebrating our wins is important and here are five reasons why:

  1. Promotes positivity: Celebrating wins fosters a positive atmosphere, which can improve overall mood and outlook.
  2. Builds confidence: Recognizing achievements helps us develop confidence in our abilities and encourages them to take on new challenges.
  3. Inspires others: Sharing successes can inspire others to strive for their own goals and accomplishments.
  4. Provides motivation: Celebrating wins serves as a reminder of what is possible, motivating ourselves to persevere during challenges.
  5. Enhances well-being: Acknowledging achievements contributes to overall well-being by reducing stress and increasing feelings of fulfillment.

She Should Run is an awesome organization working to increase the number of women running for office. They have a lot of cool resources and programs to help women explore the possibility of a run and ultimately get elected! I came across this list, 26 Common Barriers to Running for Office and How to Overcome Them, and knew I wanted to share with you! Check out the list and think about if any of these have held you back. I know many resonated with me! I would love to talk about it- send me a message!
